Secretary of State Marco “Little Marco” Rubio, ever the politician, confirmed the move, announcing a freeze on all new USAID obligations pending a “review.” Rubio even hinted at permanently shuttering USAID, folding it into the State Department—a solid idea, though it barely scratches the surface of this bloated, corrupt institution.
