The Great Airspace Giveaway Chinese-owned DJI announced it’s scrapping its geofencing system in the U.S., replacing it with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data. What does that mean in plain English? It means drone operators now have far fewer restrictions on where they can fly. Areas once labeled "No-Fly Zones"—like military bases, airports, critical infrastructure, and government sites—are now downgraded to “Enhanced Warning Zones.” What’s the difference? Instead of being locked out of restricted areas, drone operators will now receive a polite notification that they’re entering sensitive airspace. And then? They’re free to fly anyway. DJI says this puts control "back in the hands of drone operators," but let’s be real. It’s putting control directly into the hands of the CCP.…
